Hello,

I bought a Kindle because I thought I could listen to the books, but I see that this is only possible with a subscription. Is there a way to listen to books on a Kindle for free?

Hi

You don't need an Audible membership to be able to listen to books on the Amazon e-reader. Kindles include a hidden feature that reads books aloud. However, it is only available in English and you need to use a Bluetooth headset to hear the audio.

Follow these steps:

First connect a Bluetooth headset to the Kindle. To do this, swipe down from the top of your e-reader screen and go to Settings > Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. Turn on Bluetooth and tap Bluetooth Devices. Put your headphones in discoverable mode and select them when the Kindle detects them.

Then go to Settings > Accessibility. Tap on VoiceView screen Reader and toggle the switch to On.

To be able to listen to the audio of a book, navigate to the book and double-tap on it.
