This task can be done from Windows 10 without having to use programs, since compression in ZIP format is a function integrated into your File Explorer. It is done in the following way.
How to ZIP a file or folder
Open Windows 10 File Explorer.
Next, right-click on the file (or folder) you want to compress and select the Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder option.
How to unzip a file
And if you need to unzip a ZIP file, proceed as follows:
Open Windows 10 File Explorer. Locate the compressed folder (with ZIP extension) and then right-click on it.
Next, click Extract all. Complete the procedure by following the prompts.
