In practice, any laptop or desktop computer equipped with Windows 11 has at least one Internet connection, which, if active, can be shared with other devices with support for wireless connections that are nearby.

Such is the case of our mobile terminals, computers or tablets, among other Wi-Fi-enabled equipment.

This Windows 11 internet sharing capability is not turned on by default. To be able to enable it, you only have to perform a few short steps in the Windows configuration. We show you how to do it.

How to share the Internet in Windows 11

Press the Windows + I keys at the same time to enter the Windows 11 settings.

Next, go to the side panel and click on Network and Internet. In the window that opens, click the Mobile hotspot option.

Now, slide the button for the Mobile hotspot option to the On position.

Under Share my Internet connection from, choose between Ethernet or Wi-Fi, depending on the type of Internet connection active on your computer. Also, under Share over, select Wi-Fi.

In the Network Properties section you can see the name assigned to the area with Wi-Fi coverage that works from your Windows 11 computer and the network password.
