How to find your lost Android phone with Google Home and Nest Hub

The Google Home Mini and Google Nest Hub can help you locate your Android smartphone if you can’t remember where you left it. Just by saying “Ok Google, find my phone”, the Google wizard built into these devices will make it ring at high volume (even if the volume is off). For this, it only requires that both devices (your mobile phone and Google Home Mini /Nest Hub) are associated with the same Gmail account and connected to the Internet.

Check the account associated with your Google Home device

Open the Google Home app on your phone. Tap the account icon (located in the lower-right corner) and your account will be displayed.

See the Gmail account associated with your phone

Go to Settings > Accounts > Google. If it’s not the same or there isn’t one, go back to the previous window (Accounts). Touch Add account and follow the instructions.

Voice command for Google Home to find your phone

You can use the following voice commands to locate your phone:

“Ok Google, where’s my phone?”

“Ok Google, find my cell phone”

“Ok Google, locate my mobile”

“Ok Google, ring my smartphone”

Note: If your phone was stolen, Google Home will not be able to help you recover it. You’ll need to use Google’s Find My Device feature.
