Many models of smart TVs from major brands support DLNA, a communication standard that makes it possible to share multimedia content between devices connected to a home network. This function allows them to play the music or movies transmitted from DLNA file servers, such as a computer equipped with Windows 10 and even earlier versions.
The connection between the Smart TV and the PC is usually very stable and runs smoothly. However, it is first necessary to activate the integrated DLNA server in Windows 10. The procedure is as follows.
How to cast videos and movies from your PC to a Smart TV
Open the Start menu, and click on Settings. Go to Network and Internet and in the right panel of the window that opens, find and select the Network and Sharing Center option.
In the Network and Sharing Center window, click Media streaming options. In this Window, click Turn on medi streaming.
Once this procedure is done, you can send your movie or music files to the television using the Windows Media Player program or from Windows Explorer, simply by using the Cast to Device option that appears when you right-click on the file.
You can also control playback, that is, pause, fast forward or rewind, and increase or decrease the volume.
