WhatsApp: listen to audio messages without sender knowing

WhatsApp allows people who send a message to be aware of the time it is read or reproduced, being able to check it from the message information screen that appears when you press and hold on a sent message and select the Info option.

This feature is complemented by the Read Receipts feature, represented by the double blue tick, which means that a sent message has been received and read by the recipient.

This is how WhatsApp works in terms of message notification. However, not all users are happy as some prefer to receive messages in incognito mode for privacy reasons.

Fortunately for them, this possibility exists and it consists of deactivating read receipts, but voice messages and group chats are excluded, in which the information about their reading or reproduction is known by the sender.

Despite these statements, there are those who persist in listening to WhatsApp voice messages in hidden mode, that is, without confirming that they have been reproduced, since this implies, among other things, having to respond immediately. And since there is no option to achieve it, all that remains is to resort to a very simple trick.

How to play WhatsApp audios without showing blue ticks

As already mentioned, it is useless to disable WhatsApp read receipts. Instead, we will use a trick consisting of creating a chat group in which we are the only participant.

How to create a WhatsApp group in which you are the only participant

For this, we will use a WhatsApp account that we maintain in parallel to the main one or we will ask for the help of a very trusted contact to be part of the group temporarily. This procedure is carried out by clicking on the New group option from the chat screen on iPhone or from the options menu on Android.

Next, add the first invitee, specify the Group Subject, and tap Create. Immediately, click on the name of the group, scroll to the list of participants and delete the temporary contact. Once this is done, you will already have a group in which you are the only participant.

Now, all that remains is to implement the next step. Any time you want to listen to a contact’s voicemail without them knowing it’s been played, forward that message to your ‘individual’ group and play it from there.
