Hi

When I try to use the "syms" function in MATLAB, I get the error message "syms requires Symbolic Math Toolbox."

Can someone explain to me how to fix this problem? I am interested in performing symbolic calculations in MATLAB.

Thank you!

Hello

MATLAB is typically installed with a basic set of tools and numerical capabilities. Additional tool packages, such as Symbolic Math Toolbox, are installed based on the user's needs and preferences.

To add it to your MATLAB configuration, go to the Home tab, then locate the Environment section. Click Add-Ons and select the Get Add-Ons option.

In the pop-up window, type Symbolic Math Toolbox in the search bar and select it from the list of matching results.

Then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
