What is Strava?
Strava is a cycling app for smartphones that helps you record your sports activity in disciplines such as athletics or cycling so that, among other things, you can follow your progress, share routes with your friends, or compare the performance of other athletes subscribed to Strava
Using the phone’s GPS, Strava records your walking or cycling routes for each training session on a map. And at the end of the activity it offers precise information that includes distances, changes in elevation, average speed, calories expended in training and duration of the session, among other indicators that allow you to measure your sporting evolution.
However, Strava is also compatible with a wide range of smartwatches running various operating systems. Once they are connected to a Strava account, it is possible to record activity from these devices, allowing real-time information on current speed, average speed and heart rate to be obtained with just a glance at the wrist.
Strava Compatible Watches
Contrary to what you might think, you don’t need an expensive smartwatch to have Strava on your wrist.
Budget watches like the Amazfit BIP or mid-range devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 are compatible with Strava. However, in high-end watches such as those manufactured by Garmin or Wahoo, interconnection with the equipment and accessories provided by these manufacturers is possible.
