WhatsApp Short Videos: How to Send Them

Sharing short videos is a growing trend on the internet, with platforms like YouTube Shorts and TikTok being prime examples. This trend is further confirmed with WhatsApp’s new feature called “Circular Video Notes,” which aims to provide its users with a more engaging message publication tool compared to voice notes, with the circular format being its predominant characteristic.

Additionally, it has the advantage of consuming less data when sent compared to a conventional video file. This harks back to the data-saving that WhatsApp’s text messages represented compared to traditional SMS messages.

Another interesting aspect of WhatsApp’s circular video notes is that they serve as a more personal means of connection between contacts. They also offer the opportunity to create creative content and report everyday situations instantly. Their usage is very similar to that of voice notes, sharing the method of creation but not the duration, as instant circular videos have a time limit of 60 seconds. We’ll show you how to create and send an instant video note to your contacts on WhatsApp.

How to Send an Instant Video on WhatsApp

To send a circular video note, follow these steps. Open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone and select the conversation from which you want to send the circular video message.

Next, tap on the microphone icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. Immediately, the video camera icon will appear, allowing you to compose and send the circular video. Hold down the mentioned icon to start recording.

You have two options. The first is to record continuously while holding down the icon, and the second is to swipe your finger to the lock icon to record hands-free. In the first case, releasing the icon will send the message instantly. In the second option, you’ll need to send it manually once the recording is complete.

Remember that in both cases, the recording time cannot exceed 60 seconds.
