Starting with the tenth generation iPad models, Apple has extended the autonomy of its batteries up to a full day but has also changed the charging port to a USB-C type with greater charging efficiency and versatility than the Lightning port.
Indeed, USB-C ports not only receive charging, their technology also allows them to transmit data, video signals and power, characteristics that have led them to gradually replace the traditional USB connection.
How to charge your phone with an iPad
In terms of power transmission, the current battery capacity and technology of the 10th generation iPad together with the USB-C connection allows it to be shared with a wide variety of compatible electronic devices, starting with the iPhone. And for this, no configuration is needed; just connect both devices using the Lightning to USB-C cable of current iPhone models.
The power transmission will be immediate, which is equivalent to being able to charge the iPhone without electricity and in the absence of a power bank.
This same method is applied to phones from other brands such as Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi, only in these cases it is necessary to have the power cables that correspond to each model.
For example, for a Samsung Galaxy A34 or A54 phone, the appropriate cable is a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. And the same happens in the case of wanting to charge a Huawei P30, Huawei P40 or Huawei P50 phone.
In older Android phone models, that is, those compatible with the Micro USB input such as a Samsung Galaxy S10 or a Motorola Moto G4, a USB-C to Micro USB cable is needed, or failing that, a USB-C cable. C to USB 2.0 plus an OTG cable connected to the terminal.
