How to fix cursor disappeared in Windows 10 and 11

A disappearance of the mouse cursor on your Windows laptop computer is equivalent to losing control of the system and not being able to do any task unless some corrective action is taken.

The solution to this problem for obvious reasons is not to use the mouse. Instead we will use the keyboard and, if possible, a substitute mouse to verify that it is not an error in this component. Follow these steps in order until you find the Windows cursor.

Check that the mouse has not been disabled

This can happen with some video editing programs or games. To resolve this issue, press the Windows + R keys at the same time to bring up the Run dialog box. In the Open box, type the command main.cpl and click OK.

Use the TAB key to navigate to the Device Settings tab and check that it’s enabled. Otherwise, change this option and click OK. Check if the cursor has appeared. If not, go to the next step.

Open Task Manager using the keyboard

Many times the disappearance or freezing of the cursor can be due to a sudden system crash caused by a conflicting program. To close this program, do the following.

Press the CTRL + ALT + DEL key combination at the same time, use the navigation keys to select Task Manager and press Enter.

From the administrator interface, end any programs that might be causing your Windows cursor problems. At the end of this operation, check the operation of the cursor. If it doesn’t work, go to the next step.

Restart your PC

Restarting the system can also fix these kinds of errors. For this, press the Windows + X keys, scroll to Shut down or sign out and select the Restart option.
