How to make video calls from a Samsung TV

The technological advancements included in Samsung‘s modern Qled and NeoQled televisions made in 2021 have allowed many more things to be done from these screens. Another interesting feature has been added to the possibility of sharing content through Apple’s AirPlay protocol or interacting with various voice assistants: the video call function.

To make this a reality, full compatibility with the Google Duo application as well as high-resolution webcams and microphones produced by Logitech has been added to its operating system. The process to connect to a video call from the Qled and NeoQled range of Samsung smart TVs is very simple. Here we mention it step by step.

First, connect a compatible Logitech webcam to the TV’s USB port.

Once the camera is detected, a dialog box will open asking if you want to view it on the TV screen. Click the View option to confirm. Next, select the Video Call option. This will open the Google Duo app and a login request.

Now, go to your Android phone and log in with your Google account in the Google Duo app. Tap on Settings and select the Samsung TV Sign In option to authorize sign-in from the application running on the TV.

Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Wait a few moments for the account information to synchronize and select the contact with whom you want to make a video call. That is all.

The list of Logitech webcams that support video calling on a Samsung Smart TV includes the C920, C920s, C922, C922x, C925e, and C930e.
