Xiaomi is a Chinese company that has made a place for itself in the market for smart products due to its affordable prices and smooth operation thanks to the use of stable operating systems, very well complemented with its own customization layers. For example MIUI or PatchWall, implemented on the Android and Android TV operating systems respectively.
One of its most recent proposals is its smart TVs based on Android TV. These devices stand out for having multiple connectivity options, attractive designs and high performance for each of their various presentations, even in the most economical ranges.
However, as with any technological product, malfunctions often occur, one of the most notorious being its refusal to turn on. This Xiaomi TV error does not mean at all that it has become unusable since in most cases it can be easily resolved by following some guidelines.
Fix a Xiaomi TV that won’t turn on but the LED indicator is on or flashing
This is an indicator that the power supply is working. Therefore, it may be in standby mode or may not turn on due to other factors such as power failure or even software errors. Try the following solutions, one at a time, until the problem is solved.
Try to turn it on with the remote. If unsuccessful, press the manual power button located usually at the bottom of the screen. If the TV turns on, then the fault was caused by the remote control. Therefore, change its batteries or replace it with a new one.
Do a power reset of the TV. For this, unplug all HDMI cables, audio cables, external devices, and the cable that connects it to the power outlet. Wait until the red indicator LED turns off completely. Then wait another minute and reconnect the TV to the power source. Try to turn it on with the remote control or failing that with the manual button.
What to do if your Xiaomi TV does not turn on and the LED indicator is off?
An off LED indicator is an unequivocal sign that there is no current reaching the television’s electrical circuits, either due to a faulty plug or an internal component that prevents it, such as a damaged fuse.
Try to solve the problem of a defective plug by connecting the TV to a different outlet, whose correct operation you have previously verified using another electrical device. Also, do not use any type of ruler in this procedure.
If the problem is still unsolvable, then the fault lies with the television itself, but do not try to disassemble it as it may pose risks to your safety. Instead, request technical help or go to the product warranty service, in the event that the term was still valid.
