During the MWC24 event in Barcelona, Spain, Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, a smartphone that combines processing power, an impressive display, and, fundamentally, a remarkable camera system developed in collaboration with the German firm Leica.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Features
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra represents Xiaomi’s best approach to the premium range. It’s a device with remarkable design and finish, highlighted by its reinforced aluminum frame lined with vegan leather manufactured using Xiaomi’s nanotechnology.
Its impressive technical specifications also stand out. It operates with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the most powerful currently available for Android-based models, accompanied by an Adreno GPU that allows superior performance. Additionally, it features 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
Its screen is an AMOLED LTPO type, 6.73 inches in size, with WQHD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Moreover, it has a maximum brightness level of 3,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.
But the greatest virtue of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra lies in its photographic section, benefiting from collaboration with Leica, the prestigious German camera brand. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra incorporates four rear sensors of 50 megapixels each, offering unprecedented versatility and image quality.
The main sensor is a Sony LYT-900, with a continuous variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0 and an optical stabilization system called HyperOIS. This sensor allows capturing images with a high level of detail, a wide dynamic range, and a natural bokeh effect.
The remaining sensors are Sony IMX858: a floating telephoto lens with an aperture of f/1.8 and 10x optical zoom, a periscope camera with an aperture of f/2.5 and 5x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide-angle camera of 12mm with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 122-degree field of view.
The front camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is 32 megapixels, with an aperture of f/2.0 and a 90-degree field of view. This camera offers extremely high-quality selfies, with a portrait mode that simulates the effect of Leica lenses.
Another distinguishing feature is its battery, with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, supporting fast charging of 90 W via cable and 80 W wirelessly. It also features an IP68 certification, making it resistant to water and dust, a fingerprint sensor on the screen, stereo sound system with Dolby Atmos technology, as well as cutting-edge 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
How much is the Xiaomi 14 Ultra?
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is already available for sale in many international markets at a price around 1500 euros. It is available in two colors: black and white.
