AppleCare: How to Protect Your iPhone with Apple’s Insurance

The priority for many owners of a newly released iPhone or any Apple device is to keep them protected against bumps or falls that render them unusable sooner than expected. For this purpose, they cover them with covers, screen protectors and other elements that protect your investment.

However, these devices are not completely immune to accidents, so at the least expected moment they may require quality technical support and spare parts in line with their advanced technology.

This is also understood by Apple and that is why it has created AppleCare, an extended warranty and technical assistance plan for its technological products. This plan offers additional coverage to the one-year limited warranty that all Apple devices typically come with, including the iPhone.

Understanding AppleCare for iPhone: Coverage Options and Benefits

In the case of the iPhone, the AppleCare service has two variants.

AppleCare+: This Apple service is an extension of Apple’s standard warranty for its products leaving the factory, but also covers accidental damage, including exposure to liquids and battery wear, with an unlimited number of occurrences subject to a charge service that starts at $29.

In this case, AppleCare+ covers the repair or replacement of damaged hardware, accidentally or non-accidentally, with a rapid replacement service for damaged equipment. It also offers technical support by phone and chat 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

AppleCare+ with theft and loss coverage: This service is very similar to AppleCare+, but covers theft and loss of equipment with a maximum of two incidents per year, subject to a service charge of $149.

How to sign up for AppleCare+ from your iPhone

To take out this damage insurance for your precious brand new iPhone, you just have to go to Settings > General > Information and select Coverage.

The requirement to purchase AppleCare+ is that no more than 60 days have passed since the purchase of the iPhone.

How much does AppleCare+ cost for iPhone

This price varies depending on the region and model of the iPhone. But, for example, for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the average policy price for two years of the AppleCare+ plan with theft and loss coverage is about $269. And if the payment is made in monthly installments, the cost is $13.49, renewable each month until the end of the two years.

For older iPhone models the cost of the same plan is reduced by a few dollars.
