How to take moving pictures with your phone (iPhone, Android)

Although it is true that cameras have not yet been completely replaced by smartphones, the use of these devices as such is increasingly significant. In addition, each new edition of smartphones brings cameras with better image quality and new features that cover the main needs of users.

But no matter how advanced the current smartphone cameras are, they are not designed to function in a photographic discipline that, in addition to skill on the part of the photographer, requires photographic equipment with better hardware configuration. We refer to action photography, which involves capturing moving subjects and objects.

This discipline is very popular because it is related to the photography of sports activities or natural spaces with wildlife, in which unrepeatable scenes worthy of being frozen for memory are usually produced, but without the right technique and equipment they do nothing more than produce blurry photos.

However, there is a function built into the camera of smartphones with which you can capture moments of very dynamic scenes. It is the burst photo function that captures multiple photos of the same scene. Ten photos per second while the shutter is pressed, allowing you to choose, after analyzing the set of photos, the ones that are most representative. We show you how to activate it on your iPhone or Android.

How to turn on burst mode on iPhone

First of all, enable the use of the volume up button as a shutter for your iPhone’s camera. For this, go to Settings > Camera and enable the option Burst with volume up button.

Now, when you want to capture a scene with dynamic and unpredictable actions, open the Camera app and press the volume up button for as long as you deem necessary.

Once the capture is finished, view the image and click on Select to separate your favourites. Then, tap Done and choose to Keep all or Keep only the ones you’ve marked as favorites.
