In effect, Windows Movie Maker was discontinued by Microsoft over a decade ago. Its latest official version was distributed for free in the Windows Essentials 2012 suite, along with other disappeared programs such as Windows Live Writer and Windows Live Messenger.
However, it is a program that continues to work on all versions of Windows released to this day. Next, scroll to the right side of the page and in the Download Options section, click on WINDOWS EXECUTABLE.
Download this file to your PC and run it. Next, authorize the permissions requested by the product installation wizard.
In the window that opens, click Choose the programs you want to install. Uncheck all the boxes except Photo Gallery and Movie Maker and click Install.
Wait for the process to finish and ignore the warning that the installation could not be carried out. As a next step, close the installation window.
To open Windows Movie Maker you will only have to enter the Start menu, since a direct access to this program will have been recently added.
